I am an experienced counsellor offering one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy in the Dumfries and Galloway area. I offer a safe, confidential space for you to look at the issues which are causing you difficulty in your life
I have completed a Diploma in Integrative Counselling which is accredited by COSCA, the professional body for Counsellors in Scotland. It is important - and a requirement of COSCA - to keep my skills up-to-date so I attend continuing professional development events and read widely. I have attended further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), anxiety, bereavement, creative resourcing and am currently studying 'Working with the Neurobiological Legacy of Trauma'. Whilst anxiety and trauma are the main areas of my focus, I can also offer counselling on a wide variety of issues, so please contact me if you would like to talk.
How much does counselling cost?
An initial Assessment usually takes around 50 minutes and is an opportunity for you to meet me, hear about how I work and what you can expect future sessions to look like. I will ask you some questions about what has brought you to counselling at this point in your life but it's also a chance for you to ask me any questions you have about counselling.
I make a charge of £25 for this session; future sessions are £40.
Membership of professional body
I am a member of COSCA, the professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists in Scotland and adhere to COSCA's code of ethics
